A lot of times as podcasters we talk about “growing the podcast” but I want to flip it around and instead encourage you to focus on finding high-quality value you can add to the show. By adding high value you’ll grow the show authentically while showing up for your audience and what they need from you, which will, in turn, grow your show. This week, episode 13 of Listeners to Leads is about finding quality guests for your podcast!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of high-quality guests and why you may not want to find guests based on their follower count.

I chat about the following:

  • Getting clear on the goals of your podcast, and why this needs to be done before finding guests
  • Where to find guests that fit your podcast goals; some of which are right under your nose!
  • Why you should keep in contact with past guests, and how they can help you long after their episode airs
  • How to utilize your communities and places you are already hanging out to find and connect with high quality podcast guests.

If you are only selecting guests based on social status or followers on Instagram, and not because of what they can offer your audience, then you’re wasting your time and their time. Picking high-quality guests is going to amplify your message, your show, and your audience authentically.

Places to find podcast guests:

  1. Friends
  2. Authors on Amazon
  3. Search your Podcast App for similar podcasts
  4. Search blog posts, pinterest, and YouTube
  5. Check Podcast Facebook groups
  6. Search social media profiles
    • Comment on their stories
    • Check out their website
  7. Ask other Podcast Guests
  8. Some websites to check out that cost money
  9. Be a guest on other podcasts
  10. Mastermind communities
  11. Virtual Conferences / In-person Conferences

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on turning your podcast listeners into leads and to hear even more about the points outlined above.

How to Use Dynamic Content to Make Money with your Podcast | Listeners to Leads

Dynamic content is a game-changer for podcasters! Imagine having a new listener stumble upon your show and love the premise so much they start listening to episode one – that you recorded a year ago – and they love you so much they want to work with you but don’t know where to start. They shouldn’t have to binge 100 episodes to learn the most current ways to work with you! Using dynamic content allows your listeners to always get the most up-to-date information – even if they aren’t on a new episode. This week, episode 11 of Listeners to Leads is about How to Use Dynamic Content to Make Money with your Podcast!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of dynamic content and actionable steps you can take right now to make money from your podcast through dynamic content, no matter what episode your listeners are currently on.

I also chat about the following:

  • What is dynamic content and how it works
  • Where dynamic content for podcasting would go and how it might look
  • How Galati media uses dynamic content for their clients
  • Examples of promotional dynamic content that can get you paid listeners on episode 1

Dynamic content gets me fired up because it’s the best way to get any listener, on episode 1-100, aware of and get access to your newest offers and promotions.

As podcasters, it is easy to hide behind a microphone but when we allow our personality to peek through our content, this is where we will notice an increase in downloads. This week, episode 10 of Listeners to Leads is about using email to increase your podcast downloads!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, Ashley DeLuca shares the importance of infusing your personality into your podcast episodes, marketing, and overall brand and actionable steps you can take right now to pull that relatability factor into your email marketing.

Ashley and I also chat about the following:

  • Being strategic in knowing when it is time to rebrand and doing it in an effective way.
  • Tips for podcasters to show up for their email list in an authentic, relatable way that feels comfortable to them.
  • Infusing your personality in both the technical and visual side of your brand.
  • Bringing your listeners to feel like they are part of the conversation in a way that feels like you are talking with them, not at them.
  • How to diversify your content to provide additional value to your podcast while staying within your content buckets.
  • Ways in which you can bring your listeners over to your email list and vice versa.

Communication on all platforms is about being super intentional about who you’re talking to, the message you’re sending and understanding all of the pieces and components that come along with it.

The time and effort that you put into social media are ultimately what you’re going to get back from it, so giving a majority of your time to one social media will yield better results than giving small bits of your time to several platforms. This week, episode 8 of Listeners to Leads is about ditching the social media overwhelm!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, my guest Andréa Jones shares the importance of leveraging social media for your podcast and business in a way that works for you and actionable steps you can take right now to make an impact and grow your business using social media marketing.

Andréa Jones is fiercely committed to helping businesses and podcasters build profitable online communities through simple social media solutions. She’s the host of the Savvy Social Podcast, creator of the Savvy Social School, a digital platform designed to teach its 100+ members (predominantly small business owners) how to implement organic social media strategies, and named one of Social Report’s top marketers to follow.

Andréa and I also chat about the following:

  • Tips to get through the brutal first 20 episodes of your podcast to keep going.
  • Deciding which posting cadence works best for you and sticking to it.
  • Approaching social media as a podcaster and business owner without getting overwhelmed.
  • Leveraging episode content into social media posts and repurposing content to cut your social media workload in half.
  • Using clubhouse and other trendy social media platforms to gain exposure with other audiences and spark interest to drive potential listeners to your show.
  • Pitching to be on other’s podcasts as well as tips to get those people you genuinely want to hear from onto your own show.

At the end of the day, your audience should always come first to mind when it comes to every decision you make for your podcast.

The only thing I do recommend understanding first before jumping into paid advertising which is part of that impact phase. You have to understand how social media helps your business or else you’re just going to be giving Facebook your money, and they will gladly take it.
